Analysis of Global Nickel Sulfate Supply and Demand from 2021 to 2035

Nickel sulfate is mainly used in the production of new energy vehicle power batteries and is a key link in the nickel industry chain. In recent years, the global supply and demand pattern of nickel sulfate has undergone major changes. It is urgent to systematically sort out the global nickel sulfate consumption situation, analyze the development trend of nickel sulfate downstream industries, predict future demand, study and judge the global nickel sulfate supply situation, and support the sustainable development of the new energy automobile industry. After analysis and research, according to the development trend of different types of power batteries, this paper sets up three possible scenarios for nickel sulfate demand:(1) under the reference scenario, the global demand for nickel sulfate will increase from 640000 t to 3.67 million t, an increase of nearly 473 percent over the current;(2) under the high nickel scenario, the global demand for nickel sulfate will increase from 640000 t to 5.79 million t, an increase of nearly 804 percent over the current;(3) Under the low nickel scenario, global demand for nickel sulfate will increase from 640000 t to 2.12 million t, an increase of 231 percent over the current level. In terms of supply, this paper believes that due to the breakthrough of production technology, the global supply pattern of nickel sulfate will undergo major changes: the raw material for nickel sulfate production will change from the current nickel sulfide ore to the laterite nickel ore-based pattern, the smelting methods are mainly wet smelting and fire smelting, and the supply of nickel sulfate raw materials will change from Canada, Russia, Australia to Indonesia, the Philippines and other countries rich in laterite nickel ore-based pattern. Based on the changes in the global nickel sulfate pattern, it is recommended that relevant domestic enterprises accelerate investment in overseas laterite nickel ore-nickel sulfate production lines to seize market opportunities.
