Preparation of Nickel Sulfate by Freezing Crystallization of Copper After Copper Electrorelease
Author:
In order to eliminate the effect of nickel on copper electrolysis, the frozen crystallization method was used to remove nickel from copper electrolyte and recover nickel. The effects of process parameters such as sulfuric acid concentration, freezing temperature, freezing time and nickel sulfate end point temperature on nickel removal from electrolyte were investigated. On this basis, crude nickel sulfate was prepared by optimizing the process parameters of production practice. The results show that the suitable initial acid concentration of nickel sulfate should be above 395g/L, the optimal freezing end temperature should be controlled at -18 ℃, and the removal rate of nickel sulfate can be increased to 50% ~ 55%. Under this condition, the nickel content in the electrolyte can be reduced to below 8g/L through process optimization, which can effectively reduce the resistance of the electrolyte in the electrolysis system and greatly reduce the comprehensive energy consumption of electrolysis.
